Hi! It’s Audrey here again, with my week 2 update. So, this past week I did another week of Keto-ish. Actually, I feel pretty good about the results that I got.
I was somewhere around 15% carbs, and I think 60-something percent fat, which is pretty close to what I’m aiming for.
I felt good. In terms of hunger, nothing really unmanageable there.
I did not experience any real change with my energy levels, and unfortunately, I was actually really surprised to find that I only lost like 0.2 lbs, so basically nothing. I was surprised at that. But you know what? Maybe my body is just adjusting, because this is a pretty big difference from the way I was eating just a couple weeks ago.
So, I’m going to stay the course. I have another week ahead of more or less “keto-lite” and then I believe we’re going to be reintroducing a little more carbs but going stronger on the intermittent fasting. So we’ll see how that goes.
Overall though, I feel good, and my NSV – my non-scale victory – of feeling that sense of peace and no regrets at the end of the day is keeping me going, so here’s to another week.
After filming this video, I chatted wtih my nutritionist Megan Kelly. She was surprised that I haven’t felt a lift in my energy or had more of a drop in my weight. Her thought is that I might not have really hit ketosis yet. Does that mean I need to get stricter with the carbs, or go longer with the fasting periods? Possibly. We’ll see how this week goes, and if no change, we’ll have another session to formulate a plan.
I’ve also started reading Life In the Fasting Lane (by the formost authority in fasting, Dr Jason Fung, along with Eve Mayer and Megan Ramos), so will see what secrets I can uncover there.
